I'm making a storage area with 3500+ chests and have learnt that chests cause fps drops, is there any way to fix this?
second, there are various mods to help with this lag, sodium's entity culling will help a little, and you can also use https://github.com/tr7zw/EntityCulling, which is more aggressive. If you have access to the server itself (or this is singleplayer) there are probably also mods that optimize chests server-side.
