Cancellable, Efficient and Reliable Distributed Task Queue in Go
Being able to manage the stream outside of NQ would also be nice. First, because it's then easier to configure details like retention, replication (! important !), etc. Second, because sometimes it's policy (see security concerns above) to do so. There is for example the K8s JetStream Operator. If you want to manage your cluster setup using that, it would be an anti pattern for the app to manage the stream itself. It is a nice option, though, don't get me wrong. I also prefer to let the application setup its own stream(s). Especially for dev setups.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing nq and nack you can also consider the following projects:
tork - A distributed workflow engine
Asynq - Simple, reliable, and efficient distributed task queue in Go
neoq - Queue-agnostic background job library for Go, with a pleasant API and powerful features.
