After the test phase, here is the first 'real' drawing made by my Polargraph. 25000 lines for 3 hours of drawing. Format 18x18cm. The machine can go up to A2 size I'm quite satisfied with the result. If you want more information about the polargaph : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5136394

RIP Mister the Cat - I miss you every single day!
It's maybe a bit easier than you think! I started with a photo, edited it with photoshop, then processed it using the DrawingBot software Thanks to github user SonarSonic. It took me several attempts to get the final, but with some experimenting with the DrawingBot settings, going back and forth to photoshop, then back to inkscape, I split the image into 3 layers for the different colors and I'm pretty happy with the result.

The solution you linked to is doing hatching. I also found a tool that does this:

I will probably use that for a first try. If I do more plotting, I would hope to find a more intelligent hatching algorithm, which takes the shape of the areas it fills into account. If none extist, I might even write my own.
