Scrolling in Logitech Trackman marble for a mac?
https://github.com/mmikeww/DragToScroll - can use this. Holding a mouse button and rolling the ball with the same hand can be straining depending on the placement on your mouse though. You can also program a right-click on a keyboard key to hold with your off-hand and scroll with dominant hand.

vintage marble mouse the two button type. How do you scroll? I read press both buttons together but...
I have a Kensington Slimblade and use DragToScroll, which is an AutoHotKey script, for this behavior. Even though the Slimblade has a twist to scroll behavior, I find a drag to scroll method more intuitive (and better for my RSI). Download here: https://github.com/mmikeww/DragToScroll

Kensingtonworks track scroll speed
There are 3rd party softwares that you can use to convert the regular ball motion into vert/hor scroll events (eg: https://github.com/Seelge/TrackballScroll or https://www.fewprojects.com/marblescroll-for-logitech-trackman-marble/).

Seeking recommendation for budget ambidextrous trackball
I believe the software I linked and also the one that another user replied about (TrackballScroll) will work in any applications.

Switches I've tried since getting a ROG Keris. Answering questions in the comments.
For me, the marble is the only mouse/trackball that doesn't kill my wrist or index/thumb joints and I've been using one since... around 2000 when it was white and AT/Serial. I use three buttons on the trackball: Left/Right click and the small left button with TrackBallScroll to use the ball as a mousewheel. I have no use for the right small button other than being my spare microswitch when things go wrong.
