Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Advice for staking large-ish sum
There are also "easier" options, like Avado, DAppNode, etc. and Stereum. We develop and use Stereum ourselves to run nodes for Lido and staking 2000+ keys, including mev boost (a bit of manual config needed but nothing too fancy). Maintainance for a node is not an issue, if you're gone for 2 weeks there won't happen much unless it runs out of disk space.

One week after besu+lighthouse updates (fix) I still get 10+ notifications of missed attestations per day.
Attempt to fix it until DAppNode guys implement memory limits on their docker containers... (I found this as a reference... I think docker compose has to be redeployed to enable the feature, but I will wait until they implement that correctly: https://github.com/dappnode/DAppNode/issues/419)

Ethereum Foundation removes their canary
Even more relevant would be the Ethereum Improvement Proposal repo (where people submit proposals to change the spec):
https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs
Or the go-ethereum execution client (the most popular execution client):

How are blockchains built and deployed?
you may as well just look at the Ethereum reference implementation: https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum

Daily General Discussion - June 18, 2023
Interestingly, this was mitigated in Geth v1.11.4 this March, so should no longer be a concern on Ethereum, though the authors note that forks e.g. BSC and ETC may still be vulnerable.
