Go to the marlin github https://github.com/MarlinFirmware/Marlin and download the latest stable or bugfix release. Also, download the configurations that match the version of the firmware you downloaded https://github.com/MarlinFirmware/Configurations

Can't Compile Marlin 2.1.2.1 for Ender 3 (Creality_V422)
Current release, not bugfix branch? Started from the example config for your printer corresponding to the version of Marlin you downloaded?
-
please help I'm about to toss this printer out the window
Download the Marlin Example configs > https://github.com/MarlinFirmware/ConfigurationsThis contains the pre written configs for most popular printers so much of the config work is already done for you
- Replaced my stm32 by soldering and now can’t erase or program it though it detects the chip. Ideas?

Compiling Marlin 2.1bugfix for BTT SkR MINI E3 v3 & TFT35 for E3V2: the serial part is a killer!
I would add the Auto Build Marlin plugin (as well as PlatformIO) to your VS Code install, download the latest stable version of Marlin from the official source, along with the configuration examples. Copy the example Configuration.h and Configuration_adv.h for the Ender 3 Pro with Mini E3 V3, to your Marlin folder and compile that. The only important difference between an Ender 3 Pro and an Ender 3 V2, as far as firmware is concerned, is the V2 display, which you're not using, so don't use any of the config examples for a V2. The Pro version should have the correct serial port assignments:

What the heck is going on with this print on my dialed in printer?
/** * S-Curve Acceleration * * This option eliminates vibration during printing by fitting a Bézier * curve to move acceleration, producing much smoother direction changes. * * See https://github.com/synthetos/TinyG/wiki/Jerk-Controlled-Motion-Explained */ #define S_CURVE_ACCELERATION

Ender 5, firmware 4.2.7 silent board
I installed a CRTouch on my Ender 5 Pro, and I didn't want to mess around with swapping wires, so I just compiled Marlin with CRTouch/BLTouch support. Although, I'm a software developer by profession, so there wasn't anything too foreign to me about setting this all up. The biggest advantage of compiling it yourself is you get all the latest features and bug fixes, and you can mess with some of the more interesting features like S_CURVE_ACCELERATION. The disadvantages are that you have to go through the effort of building it, you also get all the latest bugs, and you may have to bang your head against a wall a few times when things don't work. :P

Firware recommendations
There's 2 things I would recommend if you're going to use my firmware: E-step calibration and PID tuning for the hotend and bed. --Host action commands enables better communication between the printer and octoprint, the screen firmware on the N3 limits some of the features though unfortunately. -- PID is a more efficient heating process, it uses variable power for heating the bed instead of bang-bang which is on or off, at least that's my understanding. -- Here's some information on S Curve: https://github.com/synthetos/TinyG/wiki/Jerk-Controlled-Motion-Explained --M48 let's you test the probe accuracy, it will probe a set number of times in a single spot and tell you the variance between the individual probes and give you an average deviation etc. --G26 does a first layer test print.
- Wondering if anyone could dummy check/give some input on my build/upgrades
