Ask HN: How you maintain your daily log?
You can do useful things with Code Browser, it has folding and links. Aka, it is the simplest possible form of a hypertext. As it is just text, things can easily be scripted.

I have kept an older, personally preferred version of that Editor on my GitHub Repo, unfortunately it does not perform stable on Linux and I have not been able to compile it on that system, in order to fix the bugs.

Here is a video showing how it works (my older version + scripts):

I also use this editor for code, it gives me the expressiveness I need, but its comments make the code look terrible in other editors.
I wish these features were available in other text editors. For someone used to Code Browsers folding capabilities, other editors are just awkward. But I guess other Coders will think the same when they see that they don't even get completion in Code Browser. Also, it is quite a niche editor.

Feature request: sync to text file (todo.txt syntax)
It would be awesome to have an option to sync to/from a text file in the todo.txt format. This is a plain text format for tasks which can be read by different apps on different platforms.

Best way to plan game development
For this project: Make a todo.txt file in the root. Don't go overboard, just note the tasks as you realize them as "(B) Add Audio System". Break them down into components when you realize tasks will take more than one sit-down, "(A) Put AudioDefs into an array \n (B) Load each of the filedata into a stack". Personally, I use (A) for "This is on the schedule", (B) "Do this today", etc.
-
Organizing Tasks
Another way is to use the todo.txt approach and add context tags like "@work" to the text of the task, and then filter the big Tasks list by searching for that context tag.

how do you manage your tasks / todos between Linux and Android?
todo.txt on linux (format definition, tool -- available in most package repos also I think, though the name is not always the same!)
