To get a file stored in IPFS you'd either use your own local node which will find which other nodes have it and fetch it, or you can use a public gateway.
-
I2P To IPFS
Something somebody might do that could be interesting is to take a list of all the public gateways: https://ipfs.github.io/public-gateway-checker/ and hook them up to a load-balancer, then forward the load balancer to I2P.

[QUESTION] can't get images from nft.storage after uploading
You can use to find a gateway https://ipfs.github.io/public-gateway-checker/ for example (there are security concern with using gateway, it's way better to use your local node but if you are fetching unimportant data it's fine).

Help! IFPS network down. I cannot connect my wallet to the DEX.
If this site is one you loaded over IFPS, you can load it from any IPFS gateway, pasting its unique hash string into that gateway: https://ipfs.github.io/public-gateway-checker/

"429 Too Many Requests" error. Can't visit any IPFS links! Please help.
Try another gateway or use your own local one if you have the IPFS app of daemon running (http://localhost:8080/ipfs/{CID}).

Gamestop NFT new URl points to potential trading of games via IPFS
https://ipfs.github.io/public-gateway-checker/ has a running list of current public gateways, some are companies that host files on blockchain for their partners/customers, gamestop is not listed (yet?).

GameStop’s official twitter account, shared this link to a new newsletter. Check out the links in the menu of the page.
With IPFS you can host public gateways which is basically a place for a company to host files for their customers to easily access without needing an IPFS supported application (this way apes can see it in a browser I think?). https://ipfs.github.io/public-gateway-checker/ has a running list of current public gateways, some are companies that host files on blockchain for their partners/customers, gamestop is not listed (yet?).Purely speculation and not even sure if this is anything new, but if it is something new then maybe they are getting ready to test a digital games marketplace hosted on block chain? Where using NFT tokens we can digitally own a game (through IPFS) and not just the license to play one.
