How the iMac Saved Apple
fyi, there's a recent rerelease/port of bugdom for modern OSes, ambrosia open sourced it: https://github.com/jorio/bugdom
-
Looking back, I should have selected âIâm not ready for the Internetâ and never have connected to it
The original retail version from 1999 or the modern port from GitHub?

Bugdom remastered (PC/Mac)
- Bugdom (and other Pangea Software games) Officially Open Sourced, would be a great fit for PSP with a native port?
- GitHub - jorio/Bugdom: đ Pangea Software's Bugdom for modern systems - How can we upscale this classic game?
-
A 20-inch G4 iMac. These are so rare.
The source code for Bugdom has been released and remastered for modern systems. It natively runs directly on modern computers, no emulator or virtual machine required!

"digital hoarding" could be an increasing problem
For sure. Thatâs why I am even more thankful for guys like Brian from Pangeasoft who OpenSourced his classic iMac games and a developer actually ported these to modern windows/MacOS/Linux system with custom new written renderer etc.: https://github.com/jorio/Bugdom

[RELEASE] Bugdom port
Initial release of Bugdom, Pangea Software's classic Mac game, ported to Vita. The port is based on Iliyas Jorio's modern desktop version of Bugdom and VitaGL.

I still use my G4 as an iTunes machine in my (A/C cooled) large shed/workshop, what do you all love to do with your vintage machines?
With that being said, a fan named Iliyas Jorio managed to get Bugdom and some of Pangea's other games like Nanosaur and Otto Matic to run on modern macOS and Windows 11. They are near perfect builds, and they're free. Here: https://github.com/jorio/Bugdom
- the boys should play bugdom

Pulled this from a Synology NAS. Over 8 years oldâŚhow much more life could be reasonably expected? Havenât even powered it on to check overall health yet, just going by the disk & date. Non-critical files, just trying to gauge how much I trust this disk at this age.
The ported it to Intel later on and renamed it Mighty Mike but I never managed to get a copy (online or otherwise). (But I just found this https://github.com/jorio/MightyMike, horay!)
- What was the first Mac game you ever played!? Mine was Bugdom in 1999
- Rebooted port of the mac-only game power pete (1995) for mac/windows/linux
- Whatâs something you can bring up right now to unlock some childhood nostalgia for the rest of us?
- Mighty Mike/Power Pete (1995) source port
- Power Pete (aka Mighty Mike) is now available for modern systems including M1 macs (and even Windows!) with a few QOL improvements
- Are there any games that can run on this?
- PangeaSoftware recently OpenSourced their iconic MacOS games âBugdomâ and âNanosaurâ and Iliyas Jorio ported both of these games to OpenGL for modern systems (Windows/Linux/MacOSX), I already tried upscaling some of the animations, would love to see what everyone else can accomplish with it!
