Download all the mods you want (in this case, the DLC Merger, EET, BG1 Unfinished Business, BG2 Unfinished Business, the Tweaks Anthology). I've provided links for each of them. 1. If there are multiple files, pick the .zip that matches your computer OS (most likely win64-bit). Extract any downloaded zip files.

Way to grab gated companions early?
Two recommendations: 1. https://github.com/Argent77/A7-DlcMerger this will merge in the DLC to one game so that mods will actually work, if you only have SoD as the installed DLC option 1 is what you want 2. Typically when you install mods you'll want to make a copy of your install outside of steam so that updates won't brick things. Can just ctrl + c -> ctrl + v to another directory

I installed some mods and all of their dialogue and other things are screwed.
If you have SoD (and don't have the game directly from Beamdog), you need to install DLCMerger from https://github.com/Argent77/A7-DlcMerger/releases/tag/v1.3 before the others.
What are some alternatives?
ViconiaFriendship - This mod adds a series of dialogues for a female PC or a male PC who has turned Viconia down, and attempts to give someone who isn't interested in a romantic relationship something to bite into. But bear in mind that Viconia is not an easy person to talk to, let alone befriend. She has a mind of her own, and although she is willing to travel with you, she may not wish to become your confidante.
BGEE-Classic-Movies - This is a WeiDU mod that restores the 'classic' movies from the original Baldur's Gate and select movies from Baldur's Gate II to BGEE/SoD/EET. There is a new component that restores the vanilla BG1 chapter and dream screens to BGEE/SoD/EET (using the appropriate theme).
SkitiaNPCs - Skitias NPCs for Baludr's Gate 2
BG1_Romantic_Encounters - A mod for BG1, adding several romantic adventures and also heart-warming quests all over the game.
MinscFriendship - This mod adds a series of dialogues with Minsc.
EET - Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Trilogy (EET) is a modification for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition that merges whole saga into one game and provides continuity between the events of Baldur's Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast, Shadows of Amn, Throne of Bhaal and Siege of Dragonspear expansion (also for both Black Pits adventures). The name of this this modification probably rings a bell to those who have been following IE modding scene, thanks to the classic mod that inspired this project, called Baldur's Gate Trilogy (BGT), developed by Bardez and Ascension64. While EET remains mostly faithful to the premise of the BGT, it shouldn't be considered a direct continuation of that project. In fact both mods share little to no common code and took different design decisions in many aspects.
KorganFriendship - This mod adds a series of dialogues with Korgan.
BG1NPC - The BG1 NPC Project adds a great deal of content by expanding the depth of character and levels of interaction with the NPCs from the Baldur's Gate game. Requires Tutu, BGT, or BGEE.
Arath_NPC - This mod for BGII adds Arath, a complex, self-assured, humorous and somewhat hedonistic, romanceable druid NPC.
Baldurs-gate-dnd-3.5 - This is a WeiDu mod for BG:Enchanced edition that changes 2ed ADnD rules to DnD 3.5 with some elements taken from Pathfinder
