Arrgh! Where have y'all been?
If you're converting your printer to an AM8, you may also want to take a look at the AM8 Switchwire Mod first. Especially since you already have a SKR Mini E3 and a V6 hotend, the mod would make sense.

Has anyone replaced the mainboard with an skr mini on their anet? I’m thinking about going with the skr mini v3 for mine after I do the am8 upgrade.
How about going even a step further and building the AM8 Switchwire Mod? It also has a full config for the SKR mini E3 v2. In general, the SKR mini boards are great and a worthy upgrade over the stock Anet Board. I‘d highly recommend to combine it with a Raspberry Zero 2 WH and Klipper and Mainsail.

(Anet) AM8 plus "Switchwire" - First prototype demo
I'm currently designing a Core XZ upgrade for the popular Anet A8 printer/AM8 printer frame. I call it AM8 plus, and it was inspired by the Voron Switchwire. The project ist open source and available on GitHub (https://github.com/maximilian-foerg/AM8-plus-Switchwire), but it is still under development! In the video you can see a first working prototype. Release of v1.0 will be very soon, probably this month. It will be released on GitHub and thingiverse.

This might be more approachable: https://github.com/JackJack3231/V0-Auxilliary-Fan . It looks like that can be installed with the panels on. Though it also sounds like it may need a more-powerful fan to cool the entire bed.
