aircrack 5ghz network monitoring not working with AWUS036ACM
I ended up returning AWUS036ACM and buying AWUS1900 (based on Realtek chipset). Installed appropriate drivers https://github.com/morrownr/8814au and everything is working as expected! No issues so far. Working on both the Kali virtual machine and the raw Debian machine. Lesson learned - stay away from Mediatek.

Tp-Link Archer T2U

Configuring a Local AP with an external NIC (AWUS1900)
I'm trying to setup a local mumble server which clients can connect to over wifi, all provided by my AWUS1900 network card. I've gotten to the point where the NIC works with these instructions, and I setup a local AP following these instructions, but I cannot see the Mumble server running on the Pi3. I am able to connect to the hotspot but I can't ping any devices including the host of the whole server, strangely. When the pi is connected to ethernet to my local network, the mumble server works however.

Are there any USB WiFi dongles that work with Fluidd?
However, if you're after long range or high speed with the Pi, and don't mind having to custom build a driver, I have this TP-Link Archer T9UH with the Realtek RTL8814au chipset. It needs this driver, which I was able to build by following the instructions on that page. It works like a champ, until there's a new kernel release, in which case it breaks until I rebuild that driver. It does however offer USB3 and 11ac, and has no trouble connecting and maintaining a high speed link (100+mbps) between where it lives in my RV parked in the driveway, and the AP in the back bedroom of my house. This is enough distance where the onboard Pi4 wifi could barely see my network and couldn't even sustain megabit speeds reliably.

AWUS1900 wireless adapter problem
I would recommend trying https://github.com/morrownr/8814au this driver, but honestly, the driver and that hardware are trash in terms of Linux support, and I’d highly recommend getting something from https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi/blob/main/The_Short_List.md

Pop Os Kernel 5.16 fixed lenovo legion 5 wifi driver
It made no sense as to why it was scanning, it's my desktop adapter and only has to connect to a singular network. Anyway i figured it might've been due to roaming so i went and reinstalled the driver i use (i use an adapter with the rtl8814au chip and use this driver: https://github.com/morrownr/8814au), just to be sure i manually set the BSSID in the network settings.

Wifi drivers on r6c
I've been trying for a few hours now to install drivers for a rtl8812au based usb wifi adapter (Edimax-7822ULC/UTC) on a nanopi r6c running kernel version 5.10.110. Zero luck with both the manufacturer driver for ubuntu and with an open source one-size-fits-all (https://github.com/morrownr/8812au-20210629). When running the manual install for morrownr's open source driver, I'm getting this error:

Having a hard time with AWUS036ACM Alfa adapter
Is this a non-standart kali vm? If yes and you are learning, never sudo apt update/upgrade unless specifically told by your instructor. The adapter works for me with the drivers and intructions on github link

Can we restart wifi services without rebooting?
I have a dongle with that chipset, used it couple of times, worked fine. The driver I used is from here https://github.com/morrownr/8812au-20210629

just installed fedora 37 as dual boot for my windows computer, but I am experiencing "flickering" on startup. Please, any advice?
Unofficially, the chipset itself seems to be the Realtek RTL8812AU chipset, which does have community support up to the current 6.1 kernel, but latest tested on Fedora is 5.11. (it will probably work, but honestly it's still a gamble). The work seems to mostly spur from the AUR repository, which links here.

Ping and download issue with M1 Mac and RTL8812AU
As seen in the picture, every other ping seems to be about one second long and every other somewhat it should be. Pinging directly my Router via WLAN. There are different drivers available for the RTL8812AU, currently using this one: github.com/morrownr/8812au-20210629. The same issue persists using other drivers available. Power saving settings for the adapter are turned off, no effect.
