Hello just looking to see if anyone here can make a custom 3ds theme? I have no idea how to make one
Use Usagi 3DS Theme Editor https://github.com/usagirei/3DS-Theme-Editor/releases or Kame Editor https://beelzy.gitlab.io/kame-editor/
- I just modded my 3DS and managed to install a Monster High theme! There aren't many themes to choose from, so I'm really happy I found this one, it even plays We Are Monster High 🥺♥️

First you have to make sure you have a modded 3ds with a theme loader (Anemone, Themely). I made this theme using the Usagirei Theme Editor. After that, export the theme and put the files it gives you into a folder. Put that folder in the “Themes” folder on your SD card and it should show up in your theme loader. If you have any other questions I would recommend looking up a better tutorial. They can probably explain it better than I could.

how do I change my 3ds wallpaper to a wallpaper from the internet?
Need cfw. https://github.com/usagirei/3DS-Theme-Editor/releases - also this might help https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-make-3ds-custom-themes-2020-updated.568539/ - this is if you want to make your own themes from scratch. Or you could just download themes made by other people from themeplaza

Custom themes for 2ds xl
I personally use Usagi but YATA ONLINE is an online theme maker if you don’t want to download an application to make the themes. Make sure you crop the images correctly or it will look wonky. Also getting music to work is finicky with the trimming of the audio, the conversion, and the looping.

dumb question, but what's this thing that shows up when you select a 3ds app called? is disabling it possible? all i did was take an official Japanese theme (that version didn't have the app thing) and disabled the bgm with YATA+. I want to keep the bgm disabled if there are any methods.
Usagi 3ds Theme Editor calls it the game text color, while Kame Editor (Kame Editor usage guide here) calls it game text. Disabling it is possible, by selecting "Disabled" in Usagi and pressing the eye icon until it's crossed out in Kame. Not sure about any versions of Yata (+ or not) though, and not sure why disabling the bgm in Yata+ also disabled the flag for the game text bubble. Why are you using Yata+ anyway? It's considered both outdated and the lesser of theme editors these days.

From someone who is not an expert… can someone explain why themes make the CFW crash ? Curious as any I install make it crash, apart from one. Is it worth making our own and having a work around for them crashing ? Or is that not possible 🤷‍♂️?
I’m afraid I don’t know, but I’ve had really good luck with Themezer’s app. I was able to install custom themes with no issues, so I recc them if you haven’t tried them already.

I think you can get custom themes on switch with Themezer. Haven’t tried so I don’t know how robust it is.
What are some alternatives?
