Project mention: Show HN: Marimo β an open-source reactive notebook for Python | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-01-12Does this allow to run a long running task in the background so that a user can close & reopen the tab and continue seeing all the output that has been produced thus far?
This is currently being worked on in Jupyter: https://github.com/jupyterlab/jupyterlab/pull/15448
Sourcegraph | REMOTE | Full-Time | Machine Learning Engineer, Developer Advocate, Enterprise Product Manager, Technical Advisor | https://sourcegraph.com
Sourcegraph is a code AI platform that makes it easy to read, write, and fix codeβeven in big, complex codebases.
We are building Cody, an AI coding assistant that uses code search and code intelligence to help devs quickly understand what's happening in code and generate new code that matches the best practices in your codebase. Cody supports AI-enabled autocompletion, fixing bugs, refactoring, test generation, code explanation, and answering high-level questions. You can read Steve Yegge's post on why Cody's code context engine differentiates it from the fast-moving field of AI dev tools: https://about.sourcegraph.com/blog/cheating-is-all-you-need.

1. yes this is possible, although it depends on your IDE. Here is a relevant discussion for eclipse (which also links to the VSCode implementation): https://github.com/eclipse/che/issues/4609. Note: i also didn't know how this worked, so I learned something today too.
2. Yes, absolutely. Feel free to reach out to me directly, or just start contributing directly if you want
Project mention: Show HN: Lapdev, a new open-source remote dev environment management software | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-03-23Founder of coder (https://github.com/coder/coder) here. We choose Terraform as our provisioning layer so that users can provision full blown VMs as their development environment.
We have many teams using GPUs with Coder for ML workloads but doing GUI/Game remote development where interactivity is essential remains elusive.
Project mention: RStudio: Integrated development environment (IDE) for R | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-03-20This particular issue should be resolved in the latest daily builds of RStudio. The underlying issue here was a conda patch included in the conda-provided builds of R, which interfered with the way RStudio attempted to load R. Please see https://github.com/rstudio/rstudio/issues/13184#issuecomment... for more details.
JS Bin is one of the useful JavaScript debugging tools designed for developers working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It gives them the opportunity to test and debug their code snippets in a real-world setting. The fact that this tool is open-source is fantastic.
The project has reached more than 1,700 GitHub stars now, the hosted service at wakapi.dev got 1,800 registered users today and a super friendly, small community has evolved on GitHub - things, which I am super happy and appreciative about!
There are services like Judge0 which you can use to execute the code in a sandbox. Just send a code as a string and get a result back. You can either use their cloud offering or deploy the container yourself (it is opensource). https://github.com/judge0/judge0
