Top 23 Entropy Open-Source Projects

  • Detect-It-Easy

Program for determining types of files for Windows, Linux and MacOS.

  • Project mention: E-book piracy - a weird ZIP file | /r/Piracy | 2023-05-17

If it was me, I'd first run something like DIE on it (I have a few such programs installed)- https://github.com/horsicq/Detect-It-Easy

  • DIE-engine

    DIE engine

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • NeuroKit

NeuroKit2: The Python Toolbox for Neurophysiological Signal Processing

  • Project mention: Help in getting ECG waveforms or HR, HRV from PolarH10 | /r/Polarfitness | 2023-05-15

I am aware of the official Polar support available here: https://github.com/polarofficial/polar-ble-sdk/issues. However, as it only provides support for Android and iOS, it doesn't fulfill my requirements. My task needs me to obtain these APIs on a Linux platform, as I intend to convert this data for use with the ROS publisher and subscriber later. I am also open to look for other feasible solution for Linux, and I'm open to exploring other reliable GitHub repositories that could help me capture ECG waveforms or directly obtain HR, HRV, and Respiration Rate values from the devices directly. I was hopeful about this one - https://github.com/neuropsychology/NeuroKit, but it turns out that it needs the ECG waveforms to be saved independently and later these signals would be processed offline. (Not real time). I also found this other repositories that I think would be useful but not too sure - https://github.com/kbre93/dont-hold-your-breath.

  • FiniteStateEntropy

New generation entropy codecs : Finite State Entropy and Huff0

  • Project mention: Intel QuickAssist Technology Zstandard Plugin for Zstandard | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-08-16

It's obsolete. It's limited to 32KB LZ window with huffman coding. Zstd can use a much larger window (8MB recommended) and a much better entropy coder: https://github.com/Cyan4973/FiniteStateEntropy

  • linuxwave

Generate music from the entropy of Linux 🐧🎵

  • Project mention: ah yes, static | /r/linuxmemes | 2023-05-21

    So, LinuxWave

  • Project mention: A really tiny and platform-independent true random number generator for FPGAs and ASICs | /r/cryptography | 2023-11-06
  • webpassgen

    Simple web-based password generator

  • Project mention: Do you actually put in ALL your passwords ? | /r/Bitwarden | 2023-06-08

Individuals like OP, who are contemplating a switch to Bitwarden (and therefore probably do not have access to any Bitwarden clients yet) can use Bitwarden's Online Password Generator (after setting the Type option to "Passphrase"), or use other online passphrase generators (although you should probably do a little bit of due-diligence research on the generator tool that you choose before trusting it to generate the master password for your Bitwarden vault).

  • tidy

    Combine and clean word lists

  • ps4-nor-validator

BwE PS4 NOR Validator & Syscon Patcher. Designed to validate the entire raw and semi-encrypted firmware of a PlayStation 4. Allows repair of corruption, enabling of system flags and states and modification of Syscon. Created using Perl by BwE :)
