Hey. Just posting to say Diablo 2 LoD is 100% working in Monterey with Porting Kit by Paul the Tall. I searched for the base game then expansion in the Library tab, installing the base normally but the expansion by clicking on the "Install Patch/Mod" option. I was able to upgrade to 1.13c this way too. The resolution was able to be increased to 1440x900 with no black bars with D2DX.

Yes, including loading times, the run counter I was using restarts the count the moment you press "save and exit", so loading times are included. My loading times with the game running on SSD, PlugY 1.13c/d and loot filter up were around 2s.
I don’t think you understand how a game engine works. The entire game, from top to bottom is controlled by the game engine. Not a single bit of this game has anything to do with unity. But yes, they had a small group, could have even been a single artist, improve all the visual artwork in the game. They added more detail to everything. Makes sense, in that case you should definitely use plugy if you're not already otherwise you won't be able to do ubers and there'll be no shared stash. BetweenWalls has pre-configured plugy for pd2 s7 at https://github.com/BetweenWalls/PD2-PlugY just in case you haven't come across it before.
