zfs send over rdma
zfs seems to work great so far but there's one thing holding deployment back: realtime sync for high availability. The canonical answers appears to be https://github.com/ewwhite/zfs-ha/wikibut this setup doesnt work for NVME.

To Ceph or not to Ceph?
storage is a 2 nodes ZFS-HA (https://github.com/ewwhite/zfs-ha) on dedicated 10 Gbe Link. Nodes are linked to a Dell MD1440 JBOD, Disks are SAS enterprise SSD on 12Gb SAS controller, distributed in two ZFS volumes (12 disks per volume), one on each node, with option to seamless migrate in case of failure. Volumes are shared via ZFS.

Why do people say ZFS is not enterprise storage?
I provide ZFS engineering services and custom architecture for very specific use cases: NAS storage for Media/Creatives applications, Veeam repositories, Biosciences and HPC. I even spent years promoting ZFS high-availability clusters.

Ceph vs ZFS and future HA cluster layout brainstorming.
My goal is to use this ZFS HA proxy with 2x ZFS RAID-3Z nodes to get 6x replication with failover capabilities. Each ZFS pool would have 8x 12TB IronWolf Pro drives. My goal is to maximize performance, while remaining as bullet-proof as possible. There would be 2 ZFS servers, with a direct fiber-optic link between them for maximum replication transfer performance. Does anyone see any potential issues with my idea?

Storage OS recommendation with support dual controller HA?
Ah, dual head. You can roll your own with zfs-ha, it's what I'm running.

Phenomenal cosmic power! Itty bitty living space.
Look into zfs-ha for clustered HA storage using shared SAS. I've had good success with it on Debian, with cross-redundant HBA connections to SFF and LFF shelves. I added extra fencing devices (IPMI and fence_crosslink) to handle edge cases I discovered during testing.
- HA with shared drives?
- How should we be architecting 4x (or more) HA file servers with 120+TB of storage?
