I had a similar problem. I often connect other monitors to my laptop (sometimes just one, sometimes two). I wanted to have certain ranges of workspaces on certain outputs. For example like this: eDP-1 {1,2,3,4,5} HDMI-A-2 {6,7,8,9,10} In order to reliably assign workspaces to a new output, I had to run 3 swaymsg commands per workspace. (No idea why this is/was. I never investigated this.) I just wanted to avoid having to manually move the workspaces. So I wrote myself a little command line tool, called swayws. To achieve the above arrangement, I use the following commands: ```
