Anyone using chatGPT seriously?
I've found the rubberduck extension for VS Code pretty good. Using it with GPT-4 requires an API key though.

I made an open source VS Code extension that let's you chat, generate code, edit code, get explanations, generate tests, find bugs and diagnose errors with AI
Thanks that makes sense. I've filed an issue in case you want to track it: https://github.com/rubberduck-ai/rubberduck-vscode/issues/39

Can AI help me write tests on legacy code?
Rubberduck is open-source. I encourage you to give it a try, report bugs and suggest improvements. I'm now contributing to the tool myself, it's really cool!

The extension supports crafting your own prompts (e.g. to tailor them to PHP or Laravel): https://github.com/rubberduck-ai/rubberduck-vscode/blob/main/doc/rubberduck-conversation-templates.md
That's why I've started to work on custom conversation templates (see e.g. https://github.com/rubberduck-ai/rubberduck-vscode/blob/main/template/task/improve-readability.rdt.md for a task example).
