Need Advice from Front End Devs
Hello, backend dev here. I want to build some very specific gui stuff for linux desktop and i am confused. Let me first tell you what I want to build. Then I will explain my confusion. So I want to build something like https://github.com/ricotz/plank and https://github.com/xfce-mirror/xfce4-panel. It is not supposed to be cross platform, specifically for linux x86 64 bit. For Xorg specifically.
So I am thinking about some sort of application, that does it and is fullscreen and borderless by default. Both these apps cannot be seperate windows.

I think OP is using Plank Dock at the right side and Clear Sans as UI font. The icon pack theme seems to be Papirus. I couldn't guess the GTK theme tho

Need help with XFCE. Grouping windows under the launcher.
Maybe something like Plank dock. It sounds like it will do what you describe with the pinned launch icons that are grouped together. It also has optional "docklets" for standard panel functions (application menu, show desktop, clock, trash, battery, clipboard, cpu monitor) so it can replace a traditional panel. It should be in most popular distro repos.

How to turn off only showing the dock on the activities menu?
Sorry, it just occured to me that there'a n extension called Dash to Plank that you can use with the Plank Dock to integrate it into Gnome, and it seems to work rather well (I don't personally use it, but it's simple and highly thought of from what I've heard). You have to use X11 instead of Wayland because Plank isn't Wayland ready yet, but it might be an option for you.
