Sending notifications to clients
This is the way. We do the same thing. We initially used phplist because it was free and had all the features we needed at the time (ability to send out a blast notice, like an emergency maintenance window warning to all or a large group of customers). However, we found that it was yet another set of group memberships to maintain and we didn't have great reporting, so we started using our CRM (HubSpot) for these internal communications. What makes it superior to phplist is the tracking and also higher readership due to improved formatting.
