Do you think many plugins could stop working in the not-so-distant future, like 1-3 years from now? Does it stop you from using plugins?
Many plugins provide a useful feature, but don't break the workflow when it goes missing. Imagine a plugin for latex formulars. It's a great addition to have $\frac{1}{2} + \sum_i n$ render as actual math in your notes, but should the plugin for rendering the formular break or be uninstalled, your notes still remain usable and readable (at least for someone who is somewhat used to writing latex). I think it is generally a good idea though to actively try to favor plugins that work in such a way. For example, I wrote a plugin for reordering files, and instead of placing the file order in a random JSON file like other plugins do, my plugin just appends a number in front of the file that it updates when you reorder. This means, it provides a useful feature while it is installed, but should you uninstall it, the order remains since its part of the file names.
