This isn't so much a question but more of a plea for help! I created an open-source crossword component https://github.com/t-blackwell/mycrossword about 18 months ago which I use on my website mycrossword.co.uk. It mostly works fine but there's a strange quirk that's been driving me mad for quite some time and would really appreciate any help offered.
