    I honestly do not understand all the complexity that surrounds async/await, its implementation in several languages, and discussions around it. I implemented async/await and then actors on top of that all in Scheme, and it couldn't have been more simple. It took less than 500 lines of code to implement these in Scheme. It basically just falls out if you have thread-safe queues and threads in a language.
