LUKS on LVM without eudev, mdev, or any device manager
As for setting up a static Xorg configuration, it's not actually difficult, just strange. We used to have an article on it but it was dropped because (many?) people found it confusing, and it's ultimately just niche cruft ever since libudev-zero arrived. But it's not hard! My configs can be found here for instance.
