Security flaw on the Arweave Android app?
The wallet is never stored in plain text. We use the password you provide on login to encrypt and decrypt it. The project is open source, if you've got ideas on how the app can be improved, please submit a PR. https://github.com/ardriveapp/ardrive-web

What's the most straight-forward way to upload an image to Arweave?
Great point! Yes, we do obfuscate things a little bit with our Arweave File System but every upload has 2 transactions. One for the metadata for the file, one for the data itself. While we do not show this information right now because we initially felt that it was too much info for the user, it actually makes a lot of sense to display this detail. We have a small UI update that lets the user copy the TXids of any file/folder/drive so they can plop it into Viewblock or any another explorer.
