i guess i can just share my dotfiles. inside config/nvim/after/ftplugin is the interesting part. mostly its just setting indents and the like, but i also set the occasional short cuts and commands that are only useful in that specific filetype

if you don't want to use a plugin, you can also set the global pyindent variables, to at least fix some of the inventing issues. Check here https://github.com/aikow/dotfiles/blob/main/tools/nvim/after/ftplugin/python.lua and take a look at the runtime indent file used by vim by default.
