  The OBD port will give you basic stuff, but if you want to read the data from the sensors, etc. already on the car, you need to tap into the ISO9141 K line. Check out https://github.com/RomRaider/RomRaider/blob/master/docs/ssm_info.txt for some very valuable information about the data framing, etc. If you want to read the data into the serial port on the Arduino, you'll need a K line to serial transceiver such as the NXP MC33660. Basically you'll be making your own Accessport. Check out more of RomRaider, it's able to do all sorts of things, including tuning.
