  • What are my job outlooks with a general bachelor's of computer science?
    1 project | /r/cscareerquestions | 15 Dec 2021
Here's some background - I should be getting a bachelor's in computer science in the spring. Unofficially, I'm focused on web dev and spent a lot of time practicing coding websites in my off time last year. I'm kind of burnt out of writing code rn and don't want to write more code for a website unless I'm getting paid for it lol. Unfortunately, none of my sites are being hosted rn but for a picture of what I can do - I wrote most of the frontend of a website with angular, angular material, and bootstrap that lets you create roadtrips. Basically a roadtrip has a map (using google maps js api) and lets you interact with the map adding/removing markers which represent stops. The stops then get additional info like title, decription, location. You can also comment on each roadtrip. The site has light mode and dark mode with a toggle button. Here's a link to the code for the website even though it's not finished. So I think my coding ability is average for someone whose never had a job coding. I did an IT internship which doesn't really translate to webdev but it's something. What do you think my chances of getting a decent job after I graduate? Do you think I need an internship or do you think I can just jump right into the field? thx :)
