Hyped abou Nim - Use in Bioinformatics
Yes I was also going to recommend checking out https://github.com/brentp 's work. He's written a number of tools in nim at this point and they are all pretty well written. I'm not sure how you're planning on doing the genome assembly (De Bruijn graph, etc), but you may want to checkout my de novo transcriptome assembler https://github.com/NatPRoach/conduit which uses partial order graphs to generate splice graphs. It's a bit messy and can definitely use some work, but hopefully useful to you as you look into working with nim.
