Completed F-14 Flight Stick
The stick is a model for about 12 dollars and worth it to not spend a year trying to repro it. The gimbal is a free Git project: Gimbal: https://github.com/rdbeerman/Joystick-Gimbal. It is all 3d printed parts with 4 skateboard bearings and some bolts/screws. I used a Arduino micro pro in the base with a external Analog to Digital converter for the x and y access. Used the Arduino joystick library with some "customizations" to handled the buttons in the joystick and the hall sensors. I would recommend the gimbal project if you were looking to make your own.
