Home Emulators
My personal preferences are StepP1 (particularly the 1.0.3 community mod) and Project OutFox with Infinitesimal. Both have the widest range of support with simfiles that have been around for a long time as they support/continue the common "StepF2" simfile standard.

Any version for Raspberry Pi ?
Project OutFox will run on a Raspberry Pi 3 or above, but ideally a 4, and has a "pump" gamemode. You could use a theme like Infinitesimal for a more accurate experience as well

PIU at home/Steam Deck
+1 for OutFox on the Steam Deck. You could also grab a theme like Infinitesimal for a more arcade-like experience. I personally haven't had a great amount of success with Windows-only simulators on Linux through compatibility layers like Proton

Lifebar Mechanics
If you can read Lua, there's an accurate PIU lifebar implementation that can be found here as part of my Infinitesimal theme for OutFox. SheepyChris wrote it, not me, and I haven't looked into the inner workings a lot so I'm not sure if it reflects this visually the same way the official game does, but it acts the same way in terms of how it's filled or drained. My basic grasp of the mechanics is that there's a certain amount of "overflow" past the end of the lifebar that makes it larger than it actually looks. This means you have more room for errors before the lifebar actually starts visually draining. The amount of overflow changes depending on the difficult of the song, with harder songs having a larger amount of overflow than easier ones. It's a weird system but you definitely start to notice it if you pay close attention to how the lifebar reacts on easier vs harder songs

Hey! I have a pad, but what program should I use to play PiU songs at home? Would Project Outfox work?
Project OutFox supports PIU charts! It's still a work in progress, and there are some minor issues including specific notetypes not being parsed yet, but support is getting better and is already far beyond stock SM5's functionality. I'd recommend using Infinitesimal, a pump-specific theme I've been working on for the past couple years that's planned to be included as the default pump theme later on down the line.

Project OutFox 0.4.15 released!
For a better gameplay experience, we also recommend downloading the Infinitesimal theme, which provides a user experience faithful to the arcade games using original assets. Infinitesimal will also be the pump theme for Alpha V.

How to purchase/download Pump It Up to play at home?
PIU Infinitesimal, a theme I'm working on for Project OutFox

Stepmania-Piu-Songs
Right now, this is a little bit janky, because stepmania's implementation of pump isn't anywhere close to how pump works in the arcade. The best thing you can do it download outfox and the Infinitesimal theme, its pump implementation is being updated to properly emulate the current arcade game, and will be a much better experience once its fully complete.

Has anyone made a StepManiaX theme for stepmania yet?
No idea if it supports dance or smx, but I would say Infinitesimal is an acceptable equivalent if you don't mind it being more pump oriented https://github.com/dj505/Infinitesimal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkPivkF8Ds8

Stepmania5 PIU Packs with background videos?
Like others have said, consider using something like StepF2 or OutFox with a PIU theme, such as Infinitesimal
