Input validation looks very similar on the back-end except instead of validating individual fields, you're usually validating the entire form in the body of an HTTP request. If you want to syntactically and semantically validate the whole form in one fell swoop, you can use schema validation. Like making a type in a statically-typed language, you can create a file with a schema, the format you expect, and check against it with a package like ajv.
