There's a (working) package in progress of VScodium over at Nonguix, see https://gitlab.com/nonguix/nonguix/-/merge_requests/190 (just needs some style fixes). As noted, electron apps don't have a foreseeable future in upstream Guix due to the nightmare of JS packaging for the standards Guix keeps.
Same problem with VSCodium's AppImage (the error about libz.so.1). And yes, they're both just electron app so the differences haven't mattered yet. Acorn is a project management tool, I also tried Xplorer.
