  • ao-react

reimplementation of the AO frontend using TypeScript and React

  • I already made that and nobody is using it. The problems are: 1) people who have bitcoin avoid spending it, 2) nobody who has bitcoin wants to provide goods or services for other people unless they get paid in bitcoin so 3) people who have bitcoin have little reason to transact with other people who have bitcoin. Bitcoin is a useful medium of exchange if you set up a storefront facing the general public, but in a small community where people who have bitcoin know each other, there is no reason for them to transact or to form a small economy. Something is missing to connect these things together in a way that actually makes sense in practice.

  • ao-3

  • That is actually the second implementation of the app... here is the first one. The third iteration is in planning stages. The versions are meant to talk to each other, but we haven't figured out a good protocol yet. ActivityPub might be a good solution

    Circles Protocol Whitepaper (by CirclesUBI)

  • I think instead of an objective solution, we can have a subjective solution where each person builds a web of trust by starting with a few known individuals. Circles has a model sort of like this for getting on the network and for linking together individuals who don't know each other.
