My suggestion for someone without programming experience would be to first follow the guide found on the Runelite Plugin Hub repo. Once you have a basic example up and running, have a little play to see how things work. Then, find a plugin that does something remotely similar to what you're after (highlighting a specific model) and find the GitHub repository for it by clicking the '?' next to the plugin settings. Fork, clone, or just straight up copy/paste their code into your newly setup plugin. Modify it to suite your purpose!
