Hello i am new. Is there a way to use another language than lua for modding?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/Minetest

  • stapled_bread

Adds bread which can be stapled to trees.

  • Another good resource would be to look at existing mods and start a simple one for yourself (https://github.com/SmallJoker/stapled_bread for example, contains both entities and node-examples)

  • Fennel

    Lua Lisp Language

  • I should say here that language used in Loria translates to Lua pretty directly, so typically it isn’t hard to compare Fennel code with generated Lua and find a problem (if you, of course, don’t use a lots of macros).

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • lua-languages

    Languages that compile to Lua

  • However, there are many languages to which this doesn’t apply (before Fennel I’ve tried to write Minetest mods in Haxe without success).

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
