Indeed, that's partially why I wrote https://github.com/sinclairzx81/typebox where only the schemas are shared (or just the type if importing with type) and where the approach described above works extremely well.
I ofc know nothing about it but this GitHub discussion seems to claim Deno support was added? (In addition to other runtimes) https://github.com/trpc/trpc/discussions/1706
