I use a composer package called PHPUnit https://phpunit.de/ (itself a framework - for writing tests).

• PHP Code Sniffer

I didn't go through everything yet, but I can offer some suggestions for syntax and styling. Not sure what IDE you are using, but use some PHP Linting and later on, you can use a took like https://github.com/squizlabs/PHP_CodeSniffer to help with the code styling
