Building a blog website with some landing pages. Laravel instead of WordPress?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/laravel

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Canvas

Publishing on your own terms (by austintoddj)

  • I like u/ediblemanager 's idea of using Canvas. There is also a "cool-tool" called Quill which you can use to build a great DOM-friendly editor into your Apps without breaking too much of a sweat. And use Eloquent and park those posts safe and sound into your db.

  • sage

WordPress starter theme with Laravel Blade components and templates, Tailwind CSS, and a modern development workflow

  • You can try https://roots.io/sage/ if you want to use blade in WP.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • october

Self-hosted CMS platform based on the Laravel PHP Framework.

  • As u/frontendben said, you can use Statamic CMS, it is a decent solution, and there are a number of others like October CMS, Asgard CMS (a bit old, but quite solid), LavaLite, Pyro etc. Craft CMS (based on Yii) could also be a possibility. Here is a list of someone's opinions on 5 popular Laravel-based CMSs.

  • CraftCMS

Build bespoke content experiences with Craft. (by craftcms)

  • If you wish to also use Eloquent model to query the data base, you may use this package : https://gitlab.com/tgeorgel/object-press

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
