  OmniBirdge UI is a web application interacting with OmniBridge FT and AMB contracts to transfer ERC20/ERC677 tokens between EVM-based blockchains

  

The scam is essentially a fake frontend (omnibridge.exchange) posing as the real frontend (omni.xdaichain.com), this is possible because the Omnibridge frontend is open sourced. This allows anyone to just fork the project, edit some of the transactions triggered by the bridge and then have people blind sign transactions they think are real.
