For example with VScode, type FIT and then Tab (for "Font ITalic"), it expands to \textit{}. You prefer a keyboard shortcut ? Type Cmd+L, Cmd+I for "tell the latex extension I want italic", and it produces the same thing. You have support for bibliography completion as well, and a live preview panel for mathematics. The extension wiki is pretty detailed about all the features.

There are tens of millions of programmers and others who need to write code or text, and there are hundreds of editors and thousands of plugins and tutorials for doing so. These editors are configurable from the minimalism to which computer should compile the LaTeX and back.
