The fastest and safest AV1 encoder.
Not AFAIK. The only relevant effort I'm aware of is rav1e, and it has more assembly in it than Rust.

At a glance, it looks like Gecko's media-decoding support is quite fragmentary. Porting all of Gecko's audio decoding to your crate might be a net simplification, even if video decoding is left untouched.
