Moving to Klicky Probe has a benefit of ability to use "z offset calibration plugin" https://github.com/protoloft/klipper_z_calibration. With this the exact offset is calculated just before printing the first layer so it can be dynamically changed to compensate changes caused by thermal expansion.
This is what I am looking at. There are a couple of variants on GitHub. Doing my research since I only want to try this once. Klicky probe

Update: Did a thorough review of all belt tension, screws, etc. Replaced standard z end stop with sexbolt end stop. Added purge bucket with nozzle cleaner. Variance has gone down, still +/- 0.015 worst case.
