    • One thing that I think is overlooked in this all is the history of BI. Between 2000 and 2010, traditional tabular/grid-based BI was the thing, but browsers at that time sucked and couldn't come close to replicating Excel. BI platforms took that as failure, Tableau was hot with their viz stuff, and BI platforms gave up on spreadsheet/grid components to chase viz. Even today, with modern browsers and components like AG Grid, both Tableau and Power BI's grid components still suck. Yet, spreadsheet style reporting is often 90% or more of content at many organizations. They can't sell software with awesome grids, nobody cares.
