I have a couple reasons that make this awkward. The remote (D) is over the Internet with typical home user upload speeds capped. Further, with usage limits I have to be careful about how much bandwidth I use. I've already been booted from one remote location where my backups pushed three remote students and a remote worker (plus Friday night movies) over their limit. My existing script dumps the zfs send output to a disk file to be transferred to the remote using rsync. If it's too big, it does not transfer and I can intervene manually, sometimes by burning and mailing a DVD. The other thing is this would require poking more holes in my firewall to reach multiple hosts and I prefer not to do that.
