  • You definitely don't need a library for any simple design system component. But yes, JS would be required for things like modals/dialogs as far as I'm aware. Would be nice if they added a way to handle that without JS considering how popular of a component it is (related thread). I would have to know the entire overall setup of your component library and stack to have any recommendation for handling these JS dependent components though.
