UniFi Protect is not natively compatible with Homekit. You’ll need to run Homebridge with the Protect plug-in. I run it in my home and it works flawlessly.

I do not know of any good homekit poe cameras so instead I just use amcrest 4k poe cameras and then run homebridge on a ras pi with the homebridge-camera-ffmpeg plugin which allows me to add the cameras to homekit and it works great. https://github.com/Sunoo/homebridge-camera-ffmpeg Note you don't get icloud recording with this and still need something else like synology surveillance station to record but you get live view and push notifications which you can use other PIR homekit motion sensors to trigger. It is a bit involved to setup.
