I'm not knowledgable in this field, thus far, but the way I understand this, the whole point of both NewPipe and FreeTube is that they tend to stay away from Google and YouTube, as much as they can; they let you watch YouTube videos without having your watching habits tracked, no ads, other simple features like enabling background playback, integration of SponsorBlock, and downloading directly to camera roll, in either formats, be it video or audio; they do most of the work locally, on device, by making use of and scraping from the original website without questionable permissions, or by utilizing the Invidous' API, alongside adding other useful features like having a local account, not bound by Google or YouTube's Terms of Services and Privacy Policies, and having the ability to store subscriptions, and other history, all of which is stored locally.
I think my best bet is to start a course like this, for background knowledge, and then try and work my way through the rest; get into Swift and programming later, (after I am done with this Open Source Society University's Computer Science course, that is), and then the way I see it, everything will come down naturally, to an extent, at the very least.

Is it just me or does it seem like YouTube has become more ad heavy recently? At least double the amount than say, a month ago.
