I use Vim to write Common Lisp, with paredit and vlime to get the interactive experience. It's not as good as the Emacs integration, but it'll get you 80% of the way there. You can shave the learning-a-new-editor yak later, once you're not stumbling over learning the language and are sure you really want to make the investment.

You need Parinfer. Several versions are available for Vim. It's easier to learn than Paredit and works better with Vim-style editing anyway. Lisp emphasizes interactivity with the REPL. It helps if you can send forms you're editing to the REPL for testing. Try something like slimv.
